SEO GUIDE FOR LAWYERS | SHORT AND CLEAR

SEO, when you start blogging you will probably see the term passing by. But what is SEO and what do you keep in mind? I am sharing an SEO guide for lawyers that you can use immediately.

In short: why do you want to work with SEO as a lawyer? SEO stands for search engine optimization. In short: being found via Google.

Why you want this is simple: this way you can easily get more traffic on your website and if all goes well also new clients.

Practical SEO guide for lawyers

SEO, being found in the search engine, how do you do that? And why is it necessary? In this SEO guide for lawyers, we provide simple and immediately applicable tips to make your website score better.

1. Index from Google

To be listed in Google, your site must be listed in the Google index. This sounds more complicated than it is. To check whether your website is in the index you can perform a search. Go to google.com and type: “site: your website URL”. If you see results from your website, your website will be in the index. Read more about this in the manual written by Google.

This is an example of when i use the site: operator on my webiste.

2. Meta Descriptions

If you search in Google, you will see search results: a title and a piece of text. In this text you can read what the article is about and whether it fits your question. This is called the meta description. It’s so important to have your meta description in order. Not only from your legal blogs but also from your pages such as home or services.

The easiest way to do this is to use a SEO plugin like Yoast, All in one SEO.

3. Keywords

Being found means that you rank high in Google for certain keywords. Terms like Injury lawyers or family lawyer etc that are commonly searched on search engines.

You should use one keyword (employment contract) per page or a combination of keywords (employment contracts in construction). You should think carefully in advance the keywords that you want to write a page, text or blog?

Also use variations of this keyword: employment contract or contracts. That way you will be found more widely.

You will return this keyword in the title and the subheadings, but do not fill your text completely with it. It should appear natural.

4. URL of the page or blog

The URL of the page, for example, “https://ravichauhan.org/what-is-keyword-cannibalization-in-seo-causes-and-countermeasures/”, must match the chosen keyword which in this case is Keyword Cannibalization

The part after the / is important. Instead of using dates or static p123 titles you better choose / employment contracts-simply-explained.

5. The text

The most important tip I give is that you should write the text for your target group.

Write clearly, be clear: make sure the reader understands what you are saying. Answer his question because that’s the reason he came to your webpage. Also, use as few technical terms as possible and do not provide extensive descriptions of legal cases. The reader wants to know where he stands, and preferably as soon as possible.

If you can help the client with his problem, for example when negotiating the employment contract, indicate this and include a good call to action like call us or contact us forms.
